That's a shame. I've had an account with DeviantART since 2002, and I've never really had any issue with it. I have seen other people get screwed pretty hard though.. *knocks on wood*

[...] Artists from all over the world join DeviantArt.com — a place where they can freely upload their artworks, photography and poems, as well as share their free resources with other designers. Recent addition on their service, as a part of overall DA’s promotion, also allows anyone to sale their artworks as prints, canvases, magnets, mugs and calendars. This means you can upload your photos and start selling instantly, is it not great? Not really. [...]

I agree, DA does have it's issues, but for being such a large site I vote that it manages itself and its users fairly well.

There will always be that one staff member they could do without who goes around enraging people on the forums, or gets rid of an account that is real, while leaving the thief's account online.

I'm just glad I have stayed small and under the radar at DA. I do enjoy showing off my work, but I don't want to become a huge figurehead. I prefer to lurk around and learn from people who are hundreds of times better than me.
