A couple of days ago, the guys behind Javascript Regular Expressions Validator contacted me and wanted to have their validator reviewed on my blog. I did not really know what this tool is all about, so I had to go to their site and see for myself what this tool is actually doing.

It’s a very nice product, Web-based regular expressions validator and testing tool. Basically these are all the functions it is doing; however, I personally found the regular expression reference to be a lot more useful than the tool itself. If you are not a pro  with Java (exactly my case), the reference is a very useful, yet short and easy to understand list that includes Assertions and their description, then Quantifiers and their range, and finally a two times longer list of Characters and their matches. You can get to the regular expression reference list by clicking on the small question sign icon at the upper corner of the page.

Also, you have an option of hiding and showing the resources or the library, which allows you to play around and learn more during the process. I believe for Java programmers, developers and users this would be a great tool which can show if the parameters you include in one window are “equal” by their meaning to those in the other field.
