Just upgraded to WordPress 2.3, and…

Upgrading to WordPress 2.3 seems to be better than it was upgrading to Wordpress 2.2, so — yes, it was okay plus! Like the Codex teaches, I deactivated the plug ins, backed up my template, backed up my database, upgraded, activated the plug ins back, database tables did not need to be updated (thankfully, and surprisingly), it’s working perfect, now.

Encountered one small database problem which I did not even know how to fix, but eventually I got rid of it.

I have already seen what WordPress 2.3 looks like after installing it on LW Blogs, and I absolutely LOVED the enhanced WYSIWYG with ability to write in colors, clean the code and erase without actually having to dive in the code.

What you need to bear in mind before upgrading?

1. Some plug ins might not work with the new platform. Although I don’t really understand why and what plug ins have to do with some files in the database, better double check.
2. Make sure your WordPress theme is compatible with the newer version. Yes, be surprised but some themes are coded in a way that will not work on WP 2.3. How to check? Upgrade and see if it functions :)

What’s New?

Easy Tags field, you need not install any supporting plug ins and it’s really made easy now! Other than that, as said already, excellent addition to the visual editor, which makes life and blogging easier. Thirdly, unlike the previous upgrade it did not reset anything, so that is already a huge plus. Hope your upgrade will go smooth as well!

I heard wordpress 2.3 messed up a lot of plugins. Other than tags and the editor is anything better?
