I’ll Show You How to Drive Massive Traffic to Your Blog Without Unique Content
Everyone, myself included, is preaching for unique content. It’s good for Adsense, it’s good for SEO and it’s good for your readers. However, not everyone can produce unique content. Hmm, okay, correction: everyone can, but definitely not on a daily basis or 4+ times a week, and if you update your blog less than that, you are going to lose all your readers. So what can you do?
Make Lists of Top Resources
Yes, simple as that. The trick is to make a long list with truly great resources. Let’s say “Top WordPress themes“, or “100 Code Snippets for webmasters”. You probably all know which blog am I talking about, who’s owner does that, and benefits from x,xxx readers, huge Adsense income and massive traffic.
Be prepared, it will consume a lot of time. Finding the best resources, then illustrating each and every source (a total must, by the way!) and posting a list takes hours. Still and all, you don’t innovate anything, you don’t have to come up with something new, which could be a great obstacle for those who’s writing skills or imagination is not reaching any far.
How will it get Massive Traffic?
This is where Social Bookmarks come into picture. “Top 50 Craps” list won’t drive massive traffic by itself, so you have to help it a little, to get started. Once the post is online, go to Digital Point Forum’s Freebies section, and post a request to exchange Stumble Upon’s. Don’t ask to exchange Digg in public ,provide the URL and your username in PM, if you don’t want to get banned, like I was. Ask friends to add your website to various Social Bookmarks sites (here is the full list, in traffic stats hierarchy) and stumble, digg it yourself. If your list is really useful, you will probably get to spread the word.
What You Should Not Forget?
First of all, add illustration to every source, item, idea in your list. Don’t turn you blog post into a billboard, yet don’t allow a bear bone post to come online. Illustrations are there to make the post more interactive, to break the content and help the reader to visualize the ideas. Imagine a published magazine without any illustrations at all, won’t you get bored browsing?
Remember, that “only” your submission to Social Bookmarks sites is not enough. If you want massive traffic, get as many people as possible to stumble and digg your page. Moreover, when submitting, give a descriptive title and review to your content, it has to catch the attention of anyone, even if this person is not directly interested in your content. Want example? Here are good ones (…and pay attention to the digg’s count! They all have x,xxx diggs there.)
- 83 Beautiful Wordpress Themes You (Probably) Haven’t Seen
- 45 Fresh, Clean and Impressive Designs (and that is not even free to grab!)

The list can really go on, there are plenty of examples, but you got my point. The title has to appeal to one’s curiosity, rather than one’s scope of interests.
How else can You benefit?
When a reader comes to your blog and faces a truly big list of something he might have interest in, yet probably unable to digest at once — he will bookmark your page. Good, your feedburner count got 1+ reader! People will email this page to a friend, stumble it or digg it themselves, out of sincerely will to share useful content, or — save it to their bookmarks. Either way, even producing 1 useful list a week, which will be wisely promoted, can guarantee steady traffic for some time. Having said that, I still have huge traffic off the 20 Best Web Interfaces – Photoshop Tutorials post I made a while ago, and it did not even make it to the front page!
