Even though I know it’s essential to update WordPress as soon as a newer version is available, I still somehow missed the past update. Nothing happened after all, only this noon when I decided to tweak the structure of Adsense I also took a look at the footer where a strange bit of code was added. I have no clue what it is, some server command embedded in an iFrame with a link to some website. I was curious, and copied the link to the browsers window… FireFix froze for about half a minute after which my Nod32 informed me of a Trojan. Thankfully no harm for the computer, but I am guessing the blog was hacked for God knows how long now, linking to an infected site and I don’t know what else if could have done.. Upgraded now, cleaned the footer and looks like it’s running fine.
So, if you are on outdated version, upgrade asap!
