Which Web Hosts We Recommend?

I often get emails asking what web hosts am I using for hosting all my sites and the answer is — I use many. I try to host each few sites on a separate IP, first of all, if the host goes down only a few websites will suffer from downtime, and secondly — link building within my own network brings more benefits. All this pays out spending a few dollars a month extra on each host.

Recently I got my hosting account at Lunar Pages. This host is often compared to Dream Host by means of offering too much bandwidth for too little price… You can also avail of our special deal, and get $50 OFF if you input the coupon code LORELEI. (That turns out to be less than $4 a month + free domain.. not a bad deal?)

The difference between these 2 hosts, Lunar Pages seem to have a much more powerful servers and obviously better uptime. I also signed up with their referral program that pays out much better than Dreamhost. Both DreamHost and LunarPages give you a FREE domain upon sign up, which you can keep for life as long as you host with them.

However, both hosts still do not perform as good as HostGator, on which I host my forum. Even though they offer less disk space and bandwidth for a higher price, you get a better quality server, faster, always online and Awstats installed.

Another host we would recommend is FatCow.com. For $44 a year you get more space than you can ever use and a FREE domain. You can host unlimited domains, no count for bandwidth and diskspace, + Adwords and Yahoo coupons. The “MooPon” gives you 50% off their cheapest plan so you pay $44 a year, instead of $88.

For more info, we always use websites that compare many web hosts and their features, this is always a very useful tool to help you make up your mind and decide which host you want to go with.

  1. [...] Linux hosting is an alternative to using Microsoft Windows-based technology for operating a website. Linux is an open-source operating system, which means the code that makes it run is publicly available. This means computer experts all over the world can share ways of improving how the system works. Although it is more complicated to understand than Windows, most computer experts say Linux is much more reliable and less likely to ‘crash’. This makes it particularly useful for running websites.
