Finally, after much gossip and talking around the Firefox 3 release, it’s been put online for a download! As you can guess, it’s not fully competible with all add-ons yet, but I believe it’s a matter of a few weeks.
From Mozilla’s official FAQ on Firefox 3:
Q: What’s new in Firefox 3?A: Firefox 3 is the fastest, leanest, most powerful browser Mozilla has ever released. With over 15,000 improvements, including the revolutionary smart location bar, malware protection, and extensive under the hood work, Firefox 3 delivers the Web without compromise.
It is promised to be the best, and break the world’s record for downloads count over the 24 hours, so we can only but wait and see how will it work. So far I don’t really like the new default skin and the drop down address bar with previously typed URL’s is rather alloying. But hey, it’s just me!

I was looking for how to downgrade to ver2 within minutes of upgrading…after browsing a bit, I found a LOT of folks looking for the same info.
The address bar as you mentioned was the first extreme dislike.
It saves EVERY LITTLE THING YOU CLICK ON.
OMG could anything be more annoying?? My address bar is going to save the sites I want it to like always, or it will not get my usage.
Damn shame too, MANY seem to be very disappointed in 3. Lots of ‘em calling it a flawed BETA and not a stable release.
Sorry to vent all over ya
but as you can see, you’re not alone.
I agree with Denis. I am just using it now and right at the moment I typed URL and did browsing, I hated it. I don’t to see everthing I typed and it gives me creeps. So I uninstalled it and back to 2.
Sorry, my vote go down for ver. 3
Chris
