Productive Work with WordPress: 10 Tips For Better Workflow
Productivity can mean something different for different people. Efficient work can help you take more projects and earn more money – or work less while earning the same. Whatever your goal, productive work is always better. In this article we give 10 tips for more productive work with WordPress! Work more productively with WordPress site…
1. Take distractions away
One of the first steps for more productive work with WordPress is to remove distractions. Often we do not realize how easy we can deduce. But distractions are deadly for your productivity. Are you going to get started with a WordPress project? Then close your email program and your social media. Put your smartphone on hold, or put it in another room.
2. Take care of focus
Once you’ve taken away the distractions, make sure you focus. For me, it’s good to work in ‘mini sprints’. I set an hour for an hour and focus me in that hour alone on the task I have to perform. I can not do anything else myself: do not go to the toilet, do not get coffee, do not walk around … Only when the alarm has gone down, I give myself a quarter to work with other things. Then I reset the timer. My method is based on the Pomodoro technique, which uses a timer to divide work in intervals. These are usually around 25 minutes in length, interrupted by short breaks.
3. Look for your ideal rhythm
I’m a real morning person. I have experienced that I can concentrate the best in the morning. That is why I always tackle the toughest tasks in the first hours of the day. If my concentration starts to decline halfway through the day, I’ve had the hardest time and I can continue with easier tasks. Look for a rhythm that works for you, and create your own productivity pattern.
4. Make use of a time management plugin
To make sure you keep the overview, it’s smart to use a time management plugin for WordPress. A good example of a good time management plugin is WP Project Manager Pro. This allows you to assign tasks, manage files, create to-do lists, create milestones and set up a timeline.
5. Use a good write app
The idle mode in WordPress is very convenient, but not always enough. Do you have to write a lot of blog posts or articles? Then a good write app can be of use.
