Samsung started earlier this week with the rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in various countries. In the meantime, however, the distribution of the Oreo update has been discontinued. The reason for this is not known, but Samsung would work on a new Oreo version that will soon have to be distributed again. The update for Dutch Galaxy S8 devices is planned for next week.

The Oreo update may contain a bug that the company noticed only during the rollout. Samsung provides the Experience 9.0 user shell in combination with the new Android version. This shell mainly brings visual changes to the Galaxy S8 devices. In addition, the Oreo update brings, among other things, the picture-in-picture mode, notification points and Play Protect to the Galaxy S8 and its big brother.

Samsung presented its Galaxy S8 devices almost a year ago. Both smartphones have an Infinity Display in combination with a beautiful housing, excellent cameras and a lot of power under the hood. The smartphones were launched with Android 7.0 Nougat and are now being updated to a new Android version. Soon the South Korean manufacturer will present its next flagships, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. These devices run immediately on release on Android 8.0 or 8.1 Oreo.
