HMD Global is working on Nokia 8 Pro with Snapdragon 845 chipset
After this year we expect a new flagship from HMD Global, or Nokia. The device does not get the name Nokia 10 but Nokia 8 Pro from Finland. This is how Nokiapoweruser believes based on reliable sources.
Nokiapoweruser sources claim that HMD Global is working on the Nokia 8 Pro. This aircraft has to be the Finnish flagship of 2018 that will be launched in August or September. Under the bonnet, the successor of the Nokia 8 reportedly has a Snapdragon 845 chipset. On the back, the new Nokia has to get an impressive camera. If info is correct, it is a rotating camera with no less than 5 sensors.
These sensors are reportedly equipped with Zeiss lenses. The Pro addition to the name must make clear that the device is equipped with a camera of this caliber. A fingerprint scanner comes under the camera. We can see that on the leaked sketches above, on which the Nokia 8 Pro is shown next to the Nokia 9. Both devices receive 3D glass from the factory at both the front and rear. The Nokia 8 Pro is expected to have a display with an 18: 9 ratio.
HMD Global last year brought the Nokia brand name back to the smarphone market. This year, the publisher of Nokia smartphones is also working hard on the road. In addition to the Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 Pro, we expect a new Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 (Plus). These two aircraft are reportedly announced at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. How many smartphones HMD Global brings to Europe exactly this year is not entirely clear yet.
It seems that the Nokia 9 is not the only high-end device that HMD will release this year. Reliable sources now point to a launch of the Nokia 8 Pro, in August or September. The past few days the Finnish brand managed to sell more devices than Google, HTC and OnePlus. Impressive, and this year HMD wants to score even harder. In spite of this we already became acquainted with the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 3. Now the Nokia 8 Pro is added.
Nokia 8 Pro leaked: high-end Android smartphone
Previously the name already appeared in an official certification and a Nokia app, code-named Nokia 8 Sirocco. According to the generally reliable NokiaPowerUser, that is the Nokia 8 Pro, and not the Nokia 10, as we first thought. But what can we expect from the Android smartphone? According to sources from that site, the device uses the Snapdragon 845. That is the high-end chip that also comes to the Galaxy S9 and LG G7.
The ‘Pro’ in the name, however, reportedly mainly refers to the camera of the device. The Nokia 8 Pro most likely uses Zeiss advanced technology that you have not seen in a smartphone camera before. Think of a Penta lens and a rotating zoom. Nokia was already known a few years ago for the striking camera modules, though it did not always yield better pictures. However, it is more than welcome between all the uniforms. Refreshing!
There will be a fingerprint scanner under the camera, as you can see in the leaked sketches. The design is reminiscent of that of the leaked Nokia 9, which gets 3D glass on both the front and back. Furthermore, we know little or nothing about the plans of HMD. Moreover, August / September is far away. Even if this leaked information is correct, much can still change in the meantime. Include the name. Meanwhile, check out the promising Nokia 7 Plus!
