So, let’s get started — for the sake of

Adsense Breaking News: Expandable Ads Announced

The guys behind Google Adsense do not often pamper their publishers with new ad formats, but when t finally happens, we are all exited head over heals. Now, recent update took place yesterday, when Google announced “Expandable Ads”.

I probably wouldn’t want to test these ads myself, as I believe they will have same click-through-rate as link units, because it requires the visitors to take 2 actions for publisher to get paid. Main reason I gave up Kontera was because these types of ads irritated and didn’t pay out, so despite the temptation, I would probably

Adsense works better on dark layouts?

As I run plenty of websites in various niche, I have a good chance of comparing how Adsense works for me in different color combinations and niches. The best tool for judging Adsense success is the click-through-rate (CTR). Weather you have 50 uniques a day or 5000, the CTR will reflect the ratio between viewed ads and clicks on them. Based on this CTR analysis, I noticed that ALL Google ads on my websites with darker layout (that are NOT webmaster’s related) tend to perform better. I noted about them not being webmasters related because of teh ads-blindness webmasters develop and

Google Adsense CTR Hitting a Record

…Not a very impressive record, though. After switching to the new design, I was convinced the CTR will remain the same or go a bit higher, bearing in mind this new theme has more “space” and is rather easy to navigate. Still, after a week with the new theme click through rate is down to 0.98% (total). The tiny ads above seems to perform slightly better compared to the “blue square” underneath the banners, so I am considering to do away with it or replace it with an image, since I am not quite satisfied with its 0.28% CTR at present.

Is it the holidays

Adsense and FeedBurner – First Sign of Google Unity

It’s since Google purchased Feedburner, yet only now we see some signs of unity, and this first step is allowing access to Adsense.

So, if you are a publisher that did qualify, you can now have the ability to hook in your AdSense account with your Feedburner account, — and this allows to syndicate AdSense modules into web-only content (similar to the FeedBurner site widgets), but not into RSS feeds themselves.

Those of us who run an average traffic blog, can only wonder how effective this new facility is going to be. Assuming you already have Adsense n your pages,

No More Accidental Adsense Clicks, says Google

Looks like Google decided to improve their Adsense code a bit. Up until now, the whole ads square was clickable, no matter where you click, if your mouse slips  on Adsense, you get to view certain ads. Many publishers clicked by mistake on their own ads, and many advertisers complained about “visitors accidental clicks” that do not result in actual traffic as once the visitor realized he was taken to another website, he would press the “back” button.

Not anymore.
