Look what happens when you don’t have sense of humour, or maybe you do but not really a good timing for it. I am not sure if all the pranks are real here, I mean why would someone be scared from a picture on his screen..? And, it was filmed exactly at that moment? I tend to doubt it a little, but then again, there are plenty of wierdo’s out there, and you may never know! Read the rest of this entry »
Finally it’s DarkLight’s time to get a new design. Custom, sleek and unique, 100% handmade with love. Here is a small peak at what’s the new theme is going to look like, the version is not final and still I have a few mishaps in IE to fix as well as a few minor cosmetic modification, but overall, this is what we are going to look like, very soon! If you don’t want to miss theĀ event, please consider subscribing to our RSS feed to be notified directly.

Only a few days left until Halloween, I was planning to make a few more ecards for my eCards website but eventually got no time, so anyway, you would have to choose between 4 eCards for Halloween, but the good part is, I went and checked on some other websites, most well known places do not offer more than that “for free” so we are not falling behind. Don’t forget to send free ecards to all your friends and say “boo!”
It’s been a few weeks that I though about redesigning this site, but somehow, I got so use to this layout, that I can’t imagine “The Dark Light of Love” blog having any other background color or even colors scheme. But, I decided it’s about time we take a step ahead of the technology and install a feed. Actually, to my total surprise I discovered that this blog lacks the RSS button, but this is fixed now. So please consider subscribing, it will really make our blog (look) better.
The modern psychologists have classed depression is an abnormal state of mind. Some time ago, let’s say, in the last century, the term “depression” — didn’t really exist. People, especially the working class, did not have time to sink in a depression. Today, in the western world — when you’re a bit down, it means you have a “medical problem” that requires treatment. At least officially. if you are going to see a psychologist or shrink.
Of course, this isn’t necessarily true. While depression is clearly a major problem for many people that does require treatment of some type, do we all need to be treated every time we are down? Moreover, if and when we become depressed for whatever reason (and I exclude serious traumas such as loss of family member, divorce etc), should we consider ourselves, in some way, “abnormal”? That’s obviously not correct, if you ask me, but than again, on the one hand I am writing this while being in a depressed state, and on the other hand I am a graduated psychologist, so my opinion could not be correct, as declaring myself “abnormal” just does not seem like an option.
Dr. Robert Spitzer, a Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University in New York, has been interviewed in Adam Curtis’ documentary and said that “the rates of mental disorders have probably been exaggerated.” The question is, HOW exaggerated? 10%? Or even 60%? However, we do know for certain from this highly respectable source that is IS by all means exaggerated. Good.
This means, even if officially, “depression” (which in the world of hunt after fame and money today is a rather normal state) is an abnormal state of mind, we ALL go through this state of mind only it’s a matter of time. Some get depressed on a daily basis, others on weekly, others on monthly while the elephants skins out there once in a blue moon.
Bottom line — being down alone in your room, does not mean you are a psychopath and placing you on the same shelf with cannibals, murderers and other inadequate human being is wrong.
Colors often have various meanings and associations in different cultures, and even in Western societies, the meanings of colors have changed over the years. Here are some of the most well known associations:
Black
Symbolizes Water in Feng Shui. Black is the color of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner, and dark silhouettes always look more dramatic and stylish. Black may also suggest submission, just like priests wear black to signify submission to God. Black outfits can also be overpowering, or make the wearer seem aloof or evil. Villains, such as Dracula, often wear black.
White
Symbolizes Metal in Feng Shui. Brides wear white to outline their innocence and purity. It’s also timeless, and neutral at the same time. Read the rest of this entry »

Is your wife scared of mice? Does your husband suffer from medomalacuphobia (fear of losing an erection)? Are you scared of ghosts, open places or on the contrary - closed places and you think it’s not “normal”? Makes you a coward?
That’s really nothing, take a look at this list of phobias (some, I regret to say, are both sad and funny) and realize you are more brave than you think!
My top 10 favorite phobias (thankfully, I suffer from none of them!)
- Arachibutyrophobia - Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth (yep, for your info, that it’s fatal!)
- Deipnophobia - Fear of dining or dinner conversations (take your bucket and disappear before someone tells you Bon Appetite)
- Geniophobia - Fear of chins (err..?)
- Hormephobia - Fear of shock (so you are already shocked in a way and afraid to be even more?)
- Ithyphallophobia - Fear of seeing, thinking about or having an erect penis. (How many impotents would give half their life for this… and you are scared?!)
- Logizomechanophobia - Fear of computers (if you read this, you are obviously not!)
- Onomatophobia - Fear of hearing a certain word or names (We all get it after a divorce)
- Pteronophobia - Fear of being tickled by feathers. (Does Ostrich’s tale counts in..?)
- Spacephobia - Fear of outer space (Hmm.. that it’s only because you have no other problems to worry about!)
- Vestiphobia - Fear of clothing. (No comment.)
