Inaccuracy in Data Analysis:

Amazon, for example, began using an AI program to screen new job applicants in 2014. It was trained using resumes from the past decade, the vast majority of which were male. The system incorrectly assumed that male applicants were preferred for new hires and began filtering out female applicants.

Algorithmic Bias:

The algorithm allowed this hate speech because it was designed to filter out only broad categories such as “whites,” “blacks,” “Muslims,” “terrorists,” and “Nazis,” rather than specific subsets of categories.

The “black box” nature of AI:

AI is known for its ability to learn from large amounts of data, identify underlying patterns, and make data-driven decisions. However, while the system consistently produces accurate results, one key drawback is that the AI system cannot express or explain how it came to that conclusion. This raises the question: how can we trust the system in highly sensitive areas such as national security, governance, or business ventures where the stakes are high?
